ADMISSION TO APPLICANTS FOR DIPLOMA AND DEGREE TRAINING AT VARIOUS COLLEGES FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2020/2021
The National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) is a body established by an Act of Parliament Chapter 129, to oversee and coordinate the provision of vocational education and training in Vocational Education and Training colleges. One of the responsibilities of the Council is to ensure that the training provided in Vocational and Training Colleges in the country meets the criteria and quality required in the labor market domestically and abroad. In fulfilling this role, the Council is responsible for coordinating the admission of students to Colleges and courses / programs recognized by the relevant authorities.
The Admissions window for the academic year 2020/2021 was opened on June 15, 2020 to September 15, 2020. Applicants for Diploma and Diploma courses submitted applications for admission to various Colleges. After the admission window closed, Colleges selected qualified applicants based on the programs offered. Selected applicants were submitted to NACTE for for REVIEW. A total of 79,045 applicants were selected to join the various programs offered by 319 Colleges and then submitted for Review. Of these, a total of 73,308 applicants (93%) met the eligibility criteria for the selected programs, and 5,737 applicants (7%) did not meet the eligibility criteria for the selected programs. Answers to this Review have been sent to Colleges already.All applicants submitted to NACTE for Verification have been applied messages and code via phone and e-mail they submitted when sending admission applications. The code is used to verify if have been selected or not selected through the NACTE website (www.nacte.go.tz). For those who have not been selected for non-qualification to study the applications they have applied for as submitted by the Colleges they have applied for, they are advised to re-apply to their favorite Colleges and programs. In addition, the Council has opened the Second Phase of Admission window from today 15th to October 26, 2020. A call is issued to those who have missed and those who had not applied to do so as there will be no other admission window for the 2020/2021 academic year. The names of the applicants for the Second Admission Window to be selected by the Colleges will be submitted to NACTE for review from 27 to 30 October, 2020. Examination results will be released by November 9, 2020. Lessons for elected will officially start on November 15, 2020. Thus, parents and the general public should avoid being misled by those who claim that studies have started before that date. The council is also closely monitoring to find out which colleges are violating the rules and will take strong action.
